You Will Suffer a While

By Don Ruhl (November 30, 2006)

Read the Bible in a year by reading First Peter 5 today.

Concentrate on these words of Peter,

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you ( 1 Peter 5:10).

Our God of all grace uses all forms of grace to bring us into His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, even as we struggle through suffering. Yes, the suffering seems eternal, but it is only for a while. He uses our suffering to perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us. We look at suffering as tearing us down, but God uses it to build us up. Remain faithful to Him regardless of what happens, and you shall enter glory as a man or woman you never imagined yourself being.
