What Have You Committed to the Lord?

By Don Ruhl (October 28, 2006)

Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Timothy 1 today

Paul committed himself to the Lord, knowing that the Lord would keep Paul until the time they met in person again. So, he wrote to Timothy,

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day ( 2 Timothy 1:12).

Paul knew what was coming. Therefore, he committed his life and everything to the Lord. Because of this commitment, Paul was not ashamed when he suffered, but was even glad to do so.

Have I committed my life in this manner to the Lord that I am willing to suffer anything for Him?

QUESTION from today’s reading assignment: People in what region had all turned away from Paul?
