This Message Is to You

By Don Ruhl (March 28, 2008)

To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 11-13.

Moses told Israel to love God and to keep His commandments ( Deuteronomy 11:1). Moses wanted them to know that God spoke direct to them, not to their children, "Know today that I do not speak with your children, who have not known and who have not seen the chastening of the LORD your God, His greatness and His mighty hand and His outstretched arm...but your eyes have seen every great act of the LORD which He did" (vv. 2-7). Their children had to love and obey God also, but Moses wanted Israel to know that they were still under obligation to the Lord. They could not pass off these things to their children, but to the day they died, they were committed to the Lord.

Do not retire from Christianity, and do not pass off your obligations to the Lord to others, but love God and obey Him till the day you die.
