Please Love Each Other

By Don Ruhl (December 8, 2006)

Read the Bible in a year by reading Second John today.

Listen to John plead with us. He said, And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another ( 2 John 5).

John wrote much on loving one another. Sometimes he presented it as a command. Sometimes he pleaded for it along with the command, which is what he did in the passage we just read.

Why did he plead with us to love one another? As you go through the day, ask yourself that constantly. See if you can find reasons why we ought to love and then do it.
