He Fled Naked

By Don Ruhl (March 31, 2008)

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 14:51-72.

As the Jews arrested Jesus and the disciples all forsook Him, Mark added this interesting note, "Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his naked body. And the young men laid hold of him, and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked" ( Mark 14:51, 52). Some believe that was Mark's way of putting himself into the story, showing that he knew the things of which he wrote. If Mark did write about himself, it was an embarrassing moment, showing that he sought no glory for his part in delivering to the world part of the holy Scriptures.

How do you place yourself in the story of Christ?
