Everyone Against God's People

By Don Ruhl (April 4, 2008)

To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 9 and 10.

Israel faced a formidable enemy after fighting Ai. The Bible says, "And it came to pass when all the kings who were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea toward Lebanon--the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite--heard about it, that they gathered together to fight with Joshua and Israel with one accord" ( Joshua 9:1, 2). What did that look like to Israel? It would have frightened any other people, who did not have the Lord with them, but Israel knew God was with them and so they fought valiantly and defeated anyone who came against them.

The church likewise often has many enemies opposing her, but if we walk with the Lord and do not fear, we shall be more than conquerors.
