Do You Want God to Hear You?

By Don Ruhl (August 26, 2008)

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 28-30.

David wrote a psalm ( Psalm 28:0), in which he desperately wanted God to hear the supplications of his heart. Listen to David's pleadings,

To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock:
Do not be silent to me,
Lest, if You are silent to me,
I become like those who go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications
When I cry to You,
When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.
(Psalms 28:1, 2)

It is not that we have to speak in that manner for God to decide to hear us, but when a burden weighs down our hearts, we should tell God about it and explain to Him why we want Him to hear us. That gets His attention.
