Beauty Can Turn to Ashes

Read the Bible in a year by reading Isaiah 13-15 today.
God promised Babylon,
"And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms,
The beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride,
Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah."
( Isaiah 13:19).
The beauty of Babylon surpassed the beauty of all ancient kingdoms. We even call its hanging gardens one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Yet, because of its persistent sin, God turned the beauty of Babylon into the ashes of Sodom and Gomorrah. How sad.
If your nation persecutes you, it is an unexpected blessing that God has removed your oppressor.
However, it would be better to see a nation repent. Pray for the repentance of your nation.
