Amazed by the Lord's Works

By Don Ruhl (March 26, 2008)

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 11:20-33.

Jesus cursed a fruitless fig tree. The next day Peter saw the tree, "Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, 'Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away'" ( Mark 11:20, 21). The disciples passed the tree that Jesus had cursed the day before and the tree was dried up completely, even from the roots. That amazed Peter, because Jesus had only spoken a word and brought about this effect. Peter did not yet know the power of the word of Christ.

Friends, Jesus is the Creator. If He can create all things with the power of His spoken word, He can certainly dry up a single tree with that same powerful word.

What can the Lord do in your life? Do you have faith in His awesome ability?
