Giving up the grouch

Father, you saved the best for your children. Sometimes we come home from work and, having given our best at the office or plant, drop our guard and release the gripes and grouchiness that built up during the day. We dump it all on those who are most important to us, and on whom we have the most influence.

So when I step in the door, Lord, spruce up my attitudes, give my smile a big lift, light up my eyes with desire to work out my little heart for my spouse and kids. Through my own front door lies the biggest opportunity of a lifetime!

Because your best was Jesus. Amen.
