THERE'S A LOT of talk these days about Christ's returning to this earth, sitting on the throne of David, and reigning for a thousand years in Jerusalem...
But, would you be surprised to learn that the Bible does not teach it? In fact, the Bible teaches that such is impossible.
Zechariah 6:13 teaches us that Jesus will be a priest upon His throne, but Hebrews 8:4 tells us that He cannot be a priest upon the earth. The conclusion, then, is that Christ's throne cannot be on the earth.
But that's not a problem, since the Bible teaches us that Christ's throne is in heaven, not on earth -- and He's reigning on that throne now, not at some point in the future.
Acts 2:30-33 tells us that Christ has sat down on the right hand of God and is ruling from the throne of David. (Don Blackwell)
KneEmail: "Yes, He shall build the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”’ ( Zechariah 6:13). "For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law" (Heb. 8:4).
