Stress

HOW CAN THE Lord's servants handle stress in their lives...?

Will it just go away in time and leave no scars? Among the hundreds of prisoners of war released by North Vietnam in 1973, one German civilian, an alleged spy, had been imprisoned for nine years. Much of the time he was kept in a box-like container with no windows or openings. American prisoners allowed to exercise outdoors produced a cadence with their hands and feet, delivering messages to him in Morse code. The German prisoner said the messages from the Americans contributed to his survival by reducing the stress from long periods of isolation and torture.

Stress from isolation is not limited to imprisonment in a jail or box. Ministers are subject to isolation as are others in pressurized jobs. When ministers and others deliver messages that may be hard for some listeners to accept and implement in their lives, they should be commended and encouraged by mature Christians to continue teaching the truth.
