Call

AT A MEETING of an umpire's convention, some of the participants gathered together for a late-night bull session...

The question arose as to how they made difficult calls. One umpire said, "I call them the way I see them." The second umpire said, "I call them the way they are." The third umpire, shaking his head, said, "They ain't nothing until I call them!"

THOUGHT: Life's circumstances are like that. We can't always control what situations will be thrown at us; but we can control our response to those circumstances. Adversities are really nothing until we "call them." When problems come into our lives, the apostle Paul urges us to allow Christ's peace to have the final word. (Robert Jefferies)

KneEmail: "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Col. 3:15).
