JUST BECAUSE WE have the technology to harvest stem cells from aborted babies and do research on them, should we...?
The argument is made that the tissue is going to be discarded, so we should use it to benefit mankind through research and transplantation. Carry the argument a little further, and listen to the ACLU lawyers scream! We spend billions of dollars annually to incarcerate, feed, clothe, and defend condemned criminals living on death row. These people are condemned and going to die anyway, so why not use these people (human beings, in adult form, with souls) for living medical experimentation and/or transplantation? Also, let us not give them anesthesia as we dismember them, perform tests, or do experimental surgical procedures. We can see the need to be civil and humane here, but we cannot see the same point with an embryo, zygote, fetus, or a partially born child (Dr. Charles Jarrett).
