Side

THE LATE G.K. Wallace had been a gospel preacher for many decades...

In his last years of life, he suffered a total loss of hearing. But despite his handicap, brother Wallace continued to regularly attend the worship assemblies of the church. He couldn't hear the singing. He couldn't hear the prayers. He couldn't hear the sermon. There were no interpreters for the deaf; he attended anyway.

On one occasion someone asked him why he continued to go to the services when he couldn't hear what was being said. Brother Wallace's response was classic. He replied, "I want the devil to know who's side I'm on!"

I like that! Dear reader, who's side are you on? Where will you be this coming Lord's Day (Heb. 10:25)? Will you worship with the saints? Does the devil know that you've sided with the Lord? (Mike Benson)
