Pretend

A DONKEY FOUND a lion's skin and put it on...

Disguised as a lion, he went into the woods and pastures and threw the flocks and herds into a dreadful fear. At last, he met his owner who saw his long ears sticking out and recognized him. The owner promptly took a stick and hit him over the head, which brought him back to his senses. Notwithstanding he was dressed in a lion's skin, he will still just a donkey.

THOUGHT: The really honest person -- in all conditions of life - will show himself in his true garb and in his own character. He will not for temporary gain pretend to be something he is not. He will not pretend to be better than he is to impress people; furthermore, he will not condescend to do anything worse than he is (Leroy Brownlow).

KneEmail: "For if a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself" (Gal. 6:3).
